Here you will find nearly 2,000 limestone islands and peaks jutting out of emerald waters to create one of Vietnam’s most picturesque panoramas. Mythology suggests that the islands were created by great dragons as the shape of their spines rise above the surface then dive back down again. It’s easy to see why the local people believe this. Today, Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Listed Site with a wealth of caves, grottoes and islands to explore. As you weave your way through the bay on an old style wooden junk boat there are plenty of additional activities that you can try. As well as visiting a cave or two, you can see fish farms and take to the water yourself in a kayak or for a swim. For those with even more time, spend a night on an island and explore deeper into the bay, where you will come across empty sandy coves and national parks.  The temples of Angkor have been UNESCO World Heritage Listed since 1992. They cover an area of 400 square kilometres, close to the city of Siem Reap. The area was once the capital city of the Khmer Empire between the 9th and 15th centuries. Nowadays the area attracts tourists from around the world, looking to explore the ruins that are slowly being overtaken by the surrounding jungle. The area is not just one temple, as most people are led to believe, but in fact, hundreds of temples are scattered amongst the lush jungle and farmland. We recommend spending at least one day at the temples, exploring all the hidden treasures.  Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji has long been revered as one of Japans three holy mountains. Standing at 3,776 metres tall and located just 100km, it is the highest mountain in Japan and attracts millions of tourists each year. Although the views from the top over the surrounding countryside are spectacular, we suggest admiring the views from below, from the Fuji Five Lakes or Hakone; your camera is sure to get a workout here.
