Here are some ways to include them so they’re not stuck in the hotel room as you explore. 1 Seek out pet-friendly accommodation… such as The Langham, Sydney, which has a pampered-pets program that includes a pet room service menu, custom-made Langham plush bed and pet-sitting services (cats and birds also welcome). 2 Find pet-friendly tours… such as Gourmet Pawprints’ Doggy Winery Tours in Victoria. You can relax knowing your pet will be given the VIP treatment and have plenty of playmates, while you enjoy the wine, walks, food and fresh air. 3 To find pet-friendly places to eat… head to off-leash parks or beaches, which is where many dog-friendly cafes are located. You’ll be able to let your dog run around and then allow them to relax at your feet as you read the paper. Pubs with beer gardens — outside busy periods — are also a good option. 4 Plan ahead… and make sure your dog is well-exercised before a long day-trip. Schedule rest‑stops near off-leash areas to give them a good run around. Fasting beforehand also means less chance of mess to clean up — but make ensure water’s available to stop dehydration. 5 Dogs are a great way to meet the locals… so head out for a walk and you might be given all sorts of practical local knowledge, as well as looking less like a tourist. You might even go one step further and arrange a doggy date for your pet through apps such as DoggyTales in your destination city. We have invested heavily in our future by converting a paper machine at our Boyer Mill in Tasmania to produce a coated mechanical paper (Light Weight Coated). Now available, LWC will extend our already broad range of papers and offer publishers and printers access to a world class coated paper from a local source.
